The Best Happy Hours in New Orleans Right Now

Gone are the days when a decent happy hour meant $1 off bottled beer or some dregs-of-the-well concoction. Today’s happy hours are a cut above, pairing classic cocktails, craft beer, and wine specials with tasty, and often upscale small plates.

No telling who is to thank for this trend, but there are plenty of reasons to be thankful: Happy hours are a win for everyone. Restaurants can fill tables during slow hours, and curious eaters can sample the wares without the commitment or cost of a full sit-down meal.

Of course, this list could never be exhaustive. Happy hour mania is so pervasive it would be silly to even try. Taking both food and drink specials into account, and with an eye towards value and good looks, here are seventeen of the best spots for happy hour right now.

Uptown Italian eatery Avo launched a new happy hour in June, and it’s a good one. Running Monday through Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m., the menu offers a handful of snacks like calamari, Brussels sprouts, and fried cauliflower, and four of the restaurant’s beloved pastas including cacio e pepe and carbonara. The drinks on special are numerous, and along with a summer spritz menu includes house cocktails and wines by the glass, all for $6.
